Connemara Senior Living

Do you require a lease to be signed?

Yes, we have a Service & Residency Agreement that needs to be signed.  A copy is given to you at the time of your intial tour; then again prior to move-in for your signature.  Residents can terminate the agreement by providing a 60-day cancellation notice.

Do you provide any apartments on an ‘affordable’ basis?

Connemara Senior Living is intelligently priced and more affordable than other area assisted living communities.  Connemara provides Group Adult Foster Care, for those of a limited income and receiving Medicaid benefits. Residents who qualify for an affordable assisted living unit pay a reduced rate and reside in a shared spacious two-bedroom suite.

Is there a place to park my car?

Yes.  We have secured garage parking for our residents and their guests.

Is smoking permitted?

No. Connemara Senior Living is a non-smoking community.

Can we have pets?

Yes! Your pet can move in with you, at the Executive Directors’ discretion.  We also require a $500 deposit.  Pets are not allowed in a shared living suite.

Do you have a community fee?

Connemara Senior Living has a one-time Community Fee. The is used to cover such costs as the application evaluations, assessment by a nurse, initial service planning, move-in coordination and other activities necessary to accommodate a new resident, including unit improvements and refurbishing.

Do you have a beauty salon and barbershop?

Yes, there is a beauty/barber shop on the 5th floor.  You can schedule individual appointments directly with the Hairstylist.

Is there medical supervision at Connemara Senior Living?

Connemara Senior Living has a Resident Care Director, along with a several licensed nurses, providing nursing oversight. Additionally, there are Resident Care Assistants available 24 hours per day providing direct personal care for each resident.

How much personal care assistance is provided at Connemara Senior Living?

Depending upon the plan that is right for you, the amount of personal care you receive per day varies, and, if necessary, additional personal care can be provided for an additional charge.

Is assistance with medication available?

Yes. We provide Self-Administered Medication Management (SAMM).  In addition, our specialized program of Limited Medication Assistance (LMA) is offered for all our Galway Memory Care residents.

Does Connemara Senior Living provide transportation to medical appointments?

No. We do not provide transportation to medical appointments however, we can assist with scheduling transportation for your appointments.

Are emergency pendants available?

We do not provide emergency pendants at Connemara Senior Living.  However, all our units are equipped with emergency response systems.  Additionally, we can refer you to several programs who can assist you with emergency pendants.

Do you cater to special diets?

We have a consultant dietician available to assist our dietary department with special diets ordered by a physician.  We will make every effort to prepare meals that adhere to the residents’ dietary restrictions.  We do, however, expect our residents to monitor their own diets.

What types of Activities does Connemara Senior Living provide?

Connemara Senior Living has a robust Activity program that reflect everyone’s interests and lifestyle.  Our program provides meaningful social and recreational activities designed to optimize the quality of life of all residents. We regularly schedule outings and trips to create memorable experiences for our residents. Weekly shopping to markets, pharmacies and retail stores also allow for our residents to have a continued sense of independence.

What kind of security do you have?

We have 24-hours a day reception and security.  All visitors must request entrance into our building.  Connemara is also equipped with security cameras on all entrances and exits.

Who pays for utilities?

All utilities, except cable service, are included in the monthly fee.  Comcast is our cable access provider and we will provide you contact information for our designated account representative to assist you with your cable service needs.

Are there kitchens in each apartment so that the resident can cook if they choose?

Yes.  Most units are equipped with a full kitchen which includes, an electric cooktop and stove, dishwasher, and a refrigerator-freezer.  Other units have kitchenettes which include an electric stove cooktop and refrigerator-freezer.

Do you have laundry services?

There are complimentary laundry rooms on the 3rd and 7th floor for the convenience of the residents. If you wish, we will wash, dry and fold your personal laundry for a small fee per load.

What about housekeeping services?

Housekeeping services are included in your monthly fee. We provide weekly vacuuming, dusting and cleaning of bathroom and kitchen, plus a change of the bed linens and trash removal.
